THEY SUPPORT US:
Ministry of Labour and Social Policy

The Secretary of State, the Government Plenipotentiary for Disabled People, Mr Jarosław Duda supported the "The Visibles" project in his letter to the director of the Silesian District of the Polish Association of the Blind, Mr Jan Kwiecień:
"With reference to the letter concerning the support for the "The Visibles" project which is being implemented by the Silesian District of the Polish Association of the Blind and Agency ‘IArt', with the aim to draw attention to the problem of access to websites by the disabled (mainly by blind and visually impaired people), I kindly inform that the Government of the Republic of Poland has been interested in and working in furtherance of designing websites, including governmental websites,
in accordance with the world standards specified by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
The issue of web service accessibility is included in the broadly understood question of social digital exclusion and has been addressed in many governmental documents and strategies. The Government Plenipotentiary for Disabled People supports such actions and actively participates in all governmental work, providing opinions on all relevant solutions concerning the disabled or the solutions which may have impact on full access to the Internet of the disabled..."
Amnesty International

Amnesty International has recommended our project in their letter addressed to "The Visibles".
"Amnesty International recognises the initiative of ‘The Visibles". We are satisfied with that attempt to draw attention to the problem of the discrimination of blind people, who, due to every-day life obstacles, are prevented from full participation in cultural, social and political life. The barriers they have to face are often the result of discriminating attitudes of the society and civil service.
At the same time, the practice of public administration bodies is sometimes contradictory to both national and European law.
We hope that the "The Visibles" project will draw attention to the predicament of the disabled, that it will bring about many positive changes in the perception of that group and will change the current state of affairs."
President of the Association - Zuzanna Kulińska
Member of the Amnesty International Board - Maciej Fagasiński
Ministry of Infrastructure

In the letter addressed to Director Artur Marcinkowski, the Ministry praises the activities of "The Visibles" and supports the idea of wide disabled access to information published on the Web.
Union of Polish Teachers

Sławomir Broniarz - Chairman of the Unin of Polish Teachers
"The Internet is not only an information treasure chest but also a work tool and a place where we seek knowledge and entertainment - it is a window on the world. It may be used by almost anybody - regardless of their age, background, education or place of living. Regrettably, it is "ALMOST" because our world is not free of barriers. In Poland, blind and visually impaired people still have limited possibilities of using the Internet. (...) I hope that in the near future blind and visually impaired people will be able to surf on the Internet freely. Good luck!"
Foundation PRIMUS

In the letter addressed to the coordinator of the "The Visibles", the Chairwoman of the Foundation ‘Primus' - Mariola Borowska wrote:
"Dear Sir,
on behalf of the Foundation "Primus" in Warsaw I would like to declare our full support for "The Visibles" project'.
The goal of our Foundation is to run non-public schools which educate modern students who are open to other people and their problems.
Within the teaching process, the "PRIMUS" schools place emphasis on work with modern computer technologies and continuous improvement of computer skills of both students and teachers.
We believe that the Internet is a wide window on the world and this is why unlimited disabled access to the Internet is so important. This is a valuable tool in a laborious process of providing equal opportunities and eliminating obstacles which the disabled face on their way.
Dear Sir, the Foundation "PRIMUS" congratulates on that initiative and fervently wishes good luck and success in the execution of the project."
Yours faithfully,
Mariola Borowska
The Chairman of the Foundation "Primus"
University of Silesia
